Selecting text in NIV

I'm trying to add a note to a phrase in the NIV (specifically Lk 5:1 end, "word of God") however when I try to select these words, the selection is automatically expanded to include the preceding "the"and "He" from the beginning of Lk 5:2 before I can right-click. What am I missing? Selection seems to behave normally with Lexham English Bible - is there something I need to do to mark out the NIV as my "anchor" translation?

My guess is that you have "smart text" selection turned on in preferences. Is this an L7 Desktop question, or a mobile app one?
