I have what I think would be a great idea for Logos that would solve an organizational problem many of us have struggled with. The issue is this: I like to take copious notes on each book of the Bible, but I also like to have notes devoted to particular topics. The problem is that when one takes notes this way, there is a often an overlap: should a note on the topic of justification that is from the Epistle to the Romans be saved in my topics:justification notes document or my Romans book note document? It helpful to organize my notes along multiple dimensions.
With the right visual filters selected, it makes no difference when looking at the book of Romans. But it would be really nice to have all my notes in Romans consolidated in my Romans notes document, and (at the same time) all my notes on Justification be visible within my Topic:justification notes document. I can make two copies of the same note but that is inelegant.
What would be ideal is if Logos allowed us to create "smart notes documents" that would collect all notes that met certain query rules. For example, any notes I have tagged with justification. Then I have the ability to keep all my notes in one place, but see them in several different notes documents. I could tag a note many different ways and see it in all the specific smart note documents it belongs to.
Another option would be to have an ability to hyperlink to specific notes within a notes document and just save those hyperlinks as notes in the applicable document.
I know using a search query, one can search for all notes tagged a certain way, and that is really powerful. So, maybe yet a third alternative would be to enable us to save queries (which is essentially what my "smart notes document" idea really is anyway).
If anybody else has another way they've solved (or found a way to ignore!) this dilemma, I'd be interested to read your thoughts and solutions.
