Ronald Numbers is huge in history of science and religion, and it has a lot of good contributors.
It addresses the common idea that Science and Religion are inevitably in conflict or at war, as put forth by two writers (Draper and White) in the late 19th century. Historians reject that for a variety of reasons, but it's certainly the common view today. For an overview, see this video from Science for Seminaries (from the AAAS), or this from Biologos. Or from another perspective here is atheist evolutionary science-philosopher Michael Ruse arguing "why the warfare thesis is false." (Only skimmed this one a little.)
