How long on discount?
How long will the 25% discount be good for?

I'd like to know as well, could Faithlife tell us how long the 25% discount offer lasts so that we don't miss out on it?

I have no idea, but they're usually pretty good about letting us know when the new version release discount ends. I would expect for it to be several weeks at the least.

I so want to be a smarty pants...
Of course it is for a "limited time." The other option would be for it to be for an UNLIMITED TIME. It is not going to be in the New Heavens, so therefore it is for a "limited time." So unless the discounts are permanent, then it is by default for a "limited time."
Sorry Amy, I could not resist.

Last time it went just past the first of the new year. That's a good guess for this time around. FL did announce the end date ahead of time.

That seems to be reasonable. Hopefully it is correct.

I think an answer more like, ”two weeks!”, or ”until Christmas!” Would be much more helpful that a limited time.
my initial thought was “is this only for launch day? Or launch week?” And I felt pressure to buy (I figure that is part of the draw through being ambiguous, create a sense of urgency and scarcity?) I think my academic discount helped to relieve me of the unnecessary urgency I felt, but it would be helpful to know if there was a more solid timeline. Unless it’s driven by a certain sales quota?
if the answer is just “a limited time!” Then so be it. I’m sure FL has the prerogative to be mysterious. Lol. L8 came like a thief in the night and the sale can leave in a twinkling of the eye, just the same.

Depending on when the discount ends will determine whether I have the money to buy or not. If the sale does go away with no warning then I guess I have money for something else. I follow online sales on many different websites and there is always an end date even with a timer. This helps me to budget and determine if I have the funds in the prescribed time. Not having a set end date encourages impulse buying and is budget busting. I guess we are supposed to give into temptation in this area but not in others. [^o)] If I knew the sale was going to end at the end of the week, I would know where I stand. If I knew if would be until the end of the year or of November, I could plan for what I want to budget. Instead, I am left with no way to plan. I won't let unpredictability stress me out. I just will refuse to care.
I despise sales tactics and they often make me run the other way without caring what I leave behind. Nothing in life is essential if you have to deal with hassle to get it and no end date for a sale is hassle to me.
Sorry for the rant, but I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way.

no end date for a sale is hassle to me.
There is always plenty of warning before the sale ends. Given the degree to which Faithlife is dependent upon the income peak given by the new release, they may genuinely not know in advance when the sale will end ... the holidays and school term begin/end date affects when we spend out money.

Could Faithlife at least tell us that they'll give us some advance notice that the discount will end at a certain time?

They will.
FL is trying to get income bumped up quickly and yet give people time to learn about L8 and decide to make a purchase.
I think the last couple of times they delayed until just after the first of the year to allow those who serve on staff at churches and have a book allowance to get that refreshed so they could make a purchase.
One thing FL will do is put out a promo blitz before the discounts end. I imagine that their income drops off significantly once the discount is gone, so they'll want to entice us one more time to make a purchase.
So, don't panic at this point in spite of the coyness of FL.

My recall is that it's about 2ish months...give or take. Usually it's about a week or two before I am able to get my finances in order, so I end up having to wait until the second or third time it goes on sale. Again, if I had known it was going on sale, maybe I wouldn't have spent hundreds of dollars on non-Logos hardcopy books over the last few weeks.
