Panel Tabs UI needs improvement

The size of each individual tab, representing the open resources within a single panel, has increased quite a bit with L8. I regularly have more tabs open in a panel than can be displayed horizontally across the top of the panel. In that situation, a small, round arrow pointing to the right is displayed allowing me to scroll to the undisplayed tabs. So far so good.

Unfortunately, I have to click that arrow 3-4 times to get completely from the rightmost visible tab to the next tab. Same thing if the left arrow is displayed. Each click seems to move in terms of a number of pixels rather than in a unit logically-related to what's being scrolled (in this case, a tab).

It seems reasonable to me that one click of the right / left scroll arrows should move one entire tab. It would be great if you could improve that behavior. It's not very usable right now.

Thanks,

Donnie

Yes this is one of my major beefs with this release- definite backward step.

And maybe after a click or two, it could increase speed to 3 tabs or so.

I'd like to see a response from FL on this problem. I just had to click 31 times to move 8 tabs to the right. Yikes!

    Thanks,

I completely agree. We've discussed making this change, but I don't have a time frame yet for when we'll do it. I'll discuss it with the team.

Thanks for the reply, Phil. I'll add that a keystroke shortcut to move focus a tab at a time in the active panel, scrolling tabs if required, would be great. E.g. Ctrl+right/left arrow.

I know most people will not be able to do this, but in order to keep all the resources I use for a book study open I now utilize L8 and Verbum- 1/2 in L8 and on a 2nd monitor 1/2 in Verbum. The size of the panel tabs is genormous- since 8 seems to be its #of open tabs limit in each 1/2 page so I still get my 24 resources which is the average 3 of resources for me. its a work around but really I don't need to read the name of the book on the panel tab from 10 ft away.

Come on guys! This should priority number one. This is too easy to fix. This is not profitable for study as many of us have multiple tabs to work with and having to click over and over again is unacceptable for the cost and reputation of this product. Lets not devolve into mediocrity like Apple has done with every new release of their products. Please fix this or I'll have to send my money elsewhere and use my stand alone Logos product for VBS.

I started this thread. I use 2 monitors. The current behavior is functional but tedious to the nth degree.

    +1 [Y]

Personally quirk is having more Windows open in Logos 8, which avoids tab scrolling.
