Notes - Logos 8
Quick question. I am watching videos online to learn how to use the new notes system in Logos 8. I am trying to create notebooks and organize some notes and I would like to know if I can save certain notebooks inside other notebooks. Creating something like a sub notebook inside another notebook.
I have lots of notes and I am trying to keep everything organized and having the ability to create sub notebooks would help. I know that the update just went live but if someone can guide me a little I would appreciate it. There is probably a way to do this that I am just not aware of yet.
Thanks and God Bless.

Hi Curt
I am trying to create notebooks and organize some notes and I would like to know if I can save certain notebooks inside other notebooks. Creating something like a sub notebook inside another notebook.
This is not currently possible. It has been discussed but I don't know if it will be done.

If I understand what you're asking, I think the answer is . . . in the center column (of the NOTES tab) click on the note you are interested in. Then, in the far right column at the top you will see a note symbol with a pull down arrow, then a circle with a line through it, then a third choice. Click on that pull down arrow and it will give you a chance to add this note to an existing notebook. Does this seem right to you?

Let me add to the above. A picture would be helpful here, but I can't seem to add a Snippet. But let me try:
I use two monitors. I right clicked on the Notes tab and chose "Open in a floating window." I moved that window to the 2nd monitor. I then R-clicked on the word "may" in James 5:16 (ESV), made sure the word may at the top of my choices was highlighted, then chose Add a note. Immediately I noticed in the 2nd monitor that a note was added. However, since the last note I looked at was in the 1 Corinthians Notebook, that's where the note was created. At the top of the third column, where we choose Note Icon, and/or Highlight Style, and/or Notebook, I simply clicked on the third option, found "James," then L-clicked it, and voila, the note is now in the correct folder. It would be nice to be able to "rename" the note so we could organize better, but perhaps this will come later. Hope this helps you as much as it did me (after almost two days of searching, finding nothing, then trial and error!)

Hi John
but I can't seem to add a Snippet
Try using the paperclip icon
It would be nice to be able to "rename" the note so we could organize better
I'm interested to know what you mean by this.
But - unless I'm mistaken - Curt was asking about "sub notebooks" which aren't currently available.

The last first: My thought was, as a go-around for sub-folders, was to just rename the note, i.e. the "name" seems to come from the "Anchor" that is assigned, but again, this is new to me and almost everyone else, so I might be wrong.
The first: I didn't even notice the paperclip icon; thanks. I will try it here:
It worked! Thanks, Graham!
