BUG: Pen Input in Notes
When using pen input on a touchscreen in the new Notes in Logos 8, it will not put the handwriting into the note field. It does recognize the "return key", and the pop-up keyboard input, but not the handwriting. Logos does put the pen input handwritten text into other places, like the "Go" search bar. Can this be fixed? It would be great to be able to use the pen to do everything and write notes.

Greetings Christopher
I am afraid that I think you will not be able to do what you want at present.
However somebody might know more than me! It would probably help if you told us what form of touchscreen you are using and the Operating System running it,

It's just a Windows 10 computer, a Lenovo with touchscreen and pen. The Pen works at it should in the "Go" search bar, other search bars, in the Devotional Prayer List fields,in the "Notes" in the "Add a Prayer" section of that, and so on. But not in the "Take a Note" section of the Notes. Nor does it work in the Sermon writing Doc.

This is a known limitation in old and new Notes in Logos. We'll post any updates on the situation to this suggestion: https://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-7/suggestions/31935130-re-enable-the-windows-handwriting-recognition-pane

Thank you for reminding me of this suggested feature request, Bradley. I had forgotten about this area, but hoped that it would have been fixed in Logos 8
If the original suggestion is correct, and Faithlife turned off that functionality in Notes, then that would be pretty lousy for customers. If the issue is a more complicated programming issue, then I understand why it may not have a quick and easy fix. Yet I do believe it needs to be fixed, as there are more and more computers that can be used in tablet mode which is intrinsic to the operating system. It really hobbles users of Surface devices and so many other notebook computers that have touchscreens too.
Thanks for listening.

Christopher – out of curiosity and ignorance...
If the touch screen functional in either the main program or in notes when using the Web App?

Huh. I hadn't tried the web app, and sure enough, the handwriting input works just as it should in the web app. So it is only in the desktop version that the functionality is missing.

Interesting! I thought it might work as it is riding on a different platform ie neither MacOS nor Windows.
At least it gives you a workaround for the times this functionality is important to your work.

I know is a pain, but, could you maybe as a workaround open a program that does accept handwriting and convert like notepad, and copy paste result into your new note, extra step maybe.. but.. [EDIT] if webapp works.. cool..
