Add Anchor doesn't seem to be working for me

For some reason, the Add Anchor tool doesn't seem to be working for me in the web app. Once I add a note to a verse that I want to add to another verse, I type the reference in the box and click Add, but nothing happens. In an instructional video that I watched, it would even suggest a verse as you typed, but it doesn't do that for me either. Anyone have any suggestions? Or maybe I'm not using this right.
