Creating a Notebook is done in the Notes Tool. Open an instance of the Notes Tool using either the "Open Notes" button at the top of the Docs panel or from the Tools panel.

    With the notes tool open:

    1. Make sure the left sidebar is open, using the sidebar button
    2. Go to the Notebooks tab of the sidebar
    3. Click the plus button (Note: if you've clicked the search icon and are seeing on that and the word "find", click the search icon again to close that and reveal the plus button again.).

Notebooks are not created from within the Docs menu - unlike creating Notes Documents in Logos 7 - but from within the Notes Tool.

Select the Notebooks view and click the "+" symbol

EDIT: Thanks, Reuben. Much better reply than mine!

    Another question regarding Notebooks.

Is it possible to have a Notebook within a Notebook like a folder hierarchy?

    Like so:

    Sermon Notes

       - Sermon Notes 2017

       - Sermon Notes 2018

       - Sermon Notes 2019

       etc. etc. etc.

I like to keep notes in this type of structure as it helps to manage what is turning out to be lots and lots of notes. :)

I recommend using tags to achieve organization like this. Notebooks are primarily for sharing and for selecting what you want to display in your resource.

In addition to Alan's suggestion you can use Favorites to achieve something like this result.

With a notebook selected in the Notes Tool drag it to a Favorites folder - it will be named "Notes" but you can rename it to match the notebook name

And you can drag multiple instances - all with different Notebooks selected to Favorites.

Clicking on any one of them will open an instance of the Notes Tool with that notebook selected
