Thanks for sharing. I didn't know him, but have appreciated his writing.
May he rest in peace!
Not that it matters in the end, but I wonder if he finished the Lexham Press Commentaries.
We’ll find out eventually. This is just a reminder to us all that we’re here today, but may be literally gone tomorrow.

Nothing reported yet on the web, that I can find. Sad news.

Me too.
Sad indeed...
Thank you for sharing, that was well written, and gave me a glimpse into who this man was.
So I wonder about this project:

I would expect Faithlife have the manuscripts for the 2 remaining books in that set. I would think further volumes are very doubtful unless someone is given his student handouts to edit.
Looks like we'll definitely get Luke, Acts and James (which hasn't gone into pre-pub yet):

Like many others, I did not know him personally, but I was blessed by his scholarly work. Thank God for him, and prayers for his family and friends.
Check out Logos' blog on Dr. Osborne - https://blog.logos.com/2018/11/remembering-grant-osborne/

According to Amazon it looks like we'll get the James volume at the end of July
https://www.amazon.co.uk/James-Verse-Osborne-Testament-Commentaries/dp/168359293X/ref=la_B001HCXIM2_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1552156673&sr=1-1&refinements=p_82%3AB001HCXIM2
Thanks for letting us know.
The Grant Osborne NT commentaries all appear to have been reduced in price. I picked up Acts last week as I noticed the price reduction in my wishlist. Signing out of my account and checking again this morning I noticed they've all been reduced. Looking forward to the James volume going into pre-pub soon.
Thanks for the heads up! I was only missing Luke. Now we wait for the James Volume 👍😁👌
I've also noticed that most Lexham Press books seem to have been reduced.
A heads up for Faithlife Connect users... the one volume that shows I do not own is Acts, but it is included with the FL Connect subscription and is in my library with a temporary license. Some may want a "permanent" license, but you should check your resources to see if you already have a temporary license before buying these.
I don't have any Logos subscription or package - other than the free of charge engine. I do have Steve Runge's high definition Romans commentary as a temporary license. I've noticed though that the Romans commentary has been reduced to only $16.99. How likely is it that I'll have permanent access via the temporary license? I'm tempted to buy, but don't want to waste money.
What other titles are people seeing on sale or reduced besides Osborne? I looked at their discourse commentaries and Lexham Bible Guides and didn't notice a difference. Maybe I just don't remember their original prices?
On a related note, thanks for the heads up. I snagged Luke and Acts w/ the additional 25% for around $20

My English may not have been clear enough. I was wondering if the books that I have access to via a temporary license are likely to remain the same. Customer service tell me that at this time they do not have any plans of removing or adding new books to Logos 8 basic. So hopefully I'll have access to the Romans HD commentary for the foreseeable future, although at $16.99 I'll probably buy one month when my spend is low - just to make sure.

The Transformative Word and Steven Runge commentaries have been reduced. Possibly others too.
I think it gets changed automatically to permanent when you buy, if not, then I’ll call CS; they can see my receipts 👍😁👌 I probably got all of the for kess than $50 with coupons and sales.
My post must not be clear. I am not buying, but if I just looked at the website it shows I do not have the Acts volume, when I do. It is just a temporary license. I do not intend to purchase it since I have it. If I did not know this was included with FL Connect I may have purchased a resource I already have access to in my library.
Apology for the confusion.

FL is aware of this issue, and is considering how a temporary license might be shown on a product page.
You're not alone in wanting to see that, to avoid buying a resource which you already have access to.

I've been looking out for the James volume to go into pre-pub. It's still not listed there. However searching Logos for Grant Osborne, there's an 11 volume set listed which includes James.

$12.44 if you own all the existing volumes in his commentary series.
I completed the unfortunately incomplete set. Too bad it won’t be completed anymore, but I’m also glad Logos dropped the price on the entire set.

We do have a partial manuscript for Hebrews from Grant that we're hoping to finish with the help of another scholar. We're also working on a solution for the rest of the volumes, though we have nothing concrete to announce yet.

Thanks Jake. I wouldn't have thought of looking there as previously I believe the series have been available as pre-pubs on the Logos site. Given I own all the published volumes it was cheaper to order the 11 set collection via Logos.

for when the James volume is finished
…+ to ensure you are not mistakenly charged twice.

Since I already had all but the James volume, I wasn't expecting to be charged anything until the James volume was delivered, but I was surprised I was charged immediately for it. Not a big deal except now I need to keep an eye open for when the James volume is finished to make sure I actually get it.
It is odd you can't preorder it in Logos.. but I did the same. I returned the order because I forgot to use my connect code and then decided I would just wait until it comes out instead

You can preorder the individual James volume, in which case I assume you would not be charged until it's rolled out. But it apparently works different if you order the "11" volume set, even though you have the other "10" volumes and are just waiting for the James volume to be rolled out.
Sorry what I meant was it was odd you could only pre-order the individual volume on LexhamPress and not Logos.
I'm not sure how I missed this volume going into pre-pub, but the final volume in this series will release Q3.

Many thanks
Me too!
Just FYI, this will be the last volume. I was hoping they would finish it with a different author but that won’t be happening. RIP
Sorry to hear of the passing of this excellent scholar.
Is this a FL official news? Last I checked they said they were going to try to think of something to finish the entire NT.
Maybe they could ask close scholar authors that were friends with Osbourne to write the rest of the NT books that are missing “In Honor of Grant Osbourne.” Life Application Commentaries NT has a few, I think (e.g. Barton Bruce and Phillip Comfort) 👍😁👌
That is what lexham Press said on Twitter
Oh well, at least Hebrews got finished ✅
As far as I know, we are still exploring a way to finish the NT for this series. I think the tweet was referring to Hebrews as the final volume that Osborne directly worked on and wasn't meant to be an announcement of the end of the series.
That's awesome news! I hope it does get finished. I know you'll do a great job with it if you do go that route
Big shoes to shadow fill, but that would be good to have a full set.
I hope it does get finished.
I'm not involved in the series, so I don't know more details. I think the hope is to find a way to finish with an author or authors who can continue in the path that Osborne would have followed for these. I was mainly sharing that I don't think Lexham intentionally made an official announcement that it was done.
