Library Expansion Packages

I know the majority of resources in the Library Expansion Packages are monographs. Are there any hindrances to having them in the library? I mean, if I do research on a topic, or passage- will the search pull findings from them as it would any other resource? (I should know the answer, but sadly I dont think I do)

You can make collections to avoid getting results from the library expansions. As it is right now I think all of them have been remove in order to create new ones for Logos 8.
I’m definitely looking forward to the new library expressions 👍😁👌

Tagging of individual resources is what drives the search result, not necessarily the type of resource.

Still there:
They are on sale now. I'd say if a package fits your budget and has books you want - get it while they are still there

the Cited By tool is a great gateway into these monographs if you put them in collections. I have this tool in my study layouts linked tho the Bible text.
Let me know if you want to see examples.

Sure. I was thinking making a collection with them as they are (Bible Backgrounds, Interpretation, etc.) would be a good idea... but how do you use them?

They do not appear to be on sale. Whatever savings figures you are seeing are due to dynamic pricing alone.

Library expansions are on sale for Logos 8 owners, at 10% to 50% off.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

This Spanish library expansions seem to have disappeared.

I didn't see that site so didn't know why they were on sale but XL at 50% off made it affordable so I finished them off.

I purchased expansion packages for Jewish Studies, Bible Interpretation and Background. I created collections for each of these and included other resources I already owned to these collections. Once in a collection you can add these as a section to the Passage Guide (which will do a reference search) or the Topic Guide (which will do a heading search for the topic,) or Cited By tool, which will also do a reference search.
Here is a side by side of all 3. The PG is for Psalm 22, the TG is for Messiah and the Cited By tool is also Psalm 22:
As I study, whether through the biblical text or topically I have access to see what these resources have to say about the pericope or topic. I determine what goes into which guides by the way I study and the expansion guide topic.
If you go to the bottom of any section you have the option to open the results in a Search window. This shows you the search run in the guide (helpful in the Topic Guide) and allows you to expand the search by adding references or words etc. Here is the topic guide search on Messiah. I could have opened the PG section to the search and added the word "Messiah" and narrowed the search more. You can also get a view of some of the collections I have in the Cited By too. Lastly, there is a Faithlife group that has formulas for collections to expedite the building of these.
Hope this helps. Apology if I interrupted the flow of this post.

Thank you John,
yes it is helpful. However, I do believe I need to go through my Camp Logos DVDs again as I have not used these methods. Sadly, as far as functionality goes, I probably am a level 2 (out of 10)... I tag my resources, and made collections from them (I am about to copy Mark Barne's Collections... gulp), but beyond that, I merely use the Search Everything for my topic research. So it looks like that may not be the most efficient or effective way to do so.
Thank you.

Yes, somewhere on the forums; I don't remember where.
