Working with Note Filters
Hello.
I've been exploring the new notes system to get to know it and have a question about filtered results. I see definite value in tagging notes and being able to group and categorize them in searches and such based on filters. After I have a applied one or more filters to achieve a list of results, I'm not sure what I am able to do with them from there. One example would be I might want to easily add them to a tool such as a passage list based on the filtered results or a document, but I don't see a simple way to accomplish anything like that. I never used Notes much before 8 as I found them so unintuitive, but I am liking the direction things are moving understanding that a lot of features are still slated to be implemented..

One thing that you can do with a filtered list of notes is to Print/Export them (3 dot menu in the upper right). This allows you to make them into a PDF, text or word processing file, or even copy them to the clipboard.
What do you want to be able to do with them? That might help us understand a bit more how to help.

Two examples would be to create a passage list or a document. I can definitely see this being useful as part of a research project on a larger topic.

a document
Does the Print/Export to a Word Document meet your needs in regards to a document?

If that is the only option, then I would say no. Spending time tagging and sorting to then have to export to an outside program to do something useful with the results would not be particularly valuable or worthwhile considering the investment in Logos resources I want to use the data with. Once the data goes outside Logos, that dramatically limits the integrated opportunities that the new note system brings. A Passage list is an obvious choice where I can still access Logos real power without having to do an unreasonable amount of copying and pasting as I would have to with a Word document. If this is just a limit of the early implementation of the new system that is fine, but if the long term doesn't change this situation then the value of the new filters will not be near what it could and should be.

No, not really. A passage list gives me the ability to use my logos resources and integration in an efficient and effective manner. A word document means I have to do a bunch of copying and pasting to accomplish anything with the data other than simple distribution. The real power of filters is finding a set of desired data and then being able to use Logos' tools and features to do something useful with it. If this is just a limitation of the new system, that is fine and understandable. If there aren't plans to make this more usable within Logos than it will severely limit the usefulness of what is otherwise a very helpful and full of potential feature.

Sorry for the double reply. I received an error on the first one so I did not think it managed to post.

Good news. There are plans to add the ability to make a Passage List. It's #14 on the list (see the bottom of this page: https://www.logos.com/faq/notes)

Excellent! I somehow missed that before. This gives me the confidence to begin the long process of tagging notes and highlights for the future.
