Finding Missing Mytags

Seems like some things have changed.

Problem: I want to find resources that I have not tagged in my library.

Old Solutions:

1. Back in the oldest of days I could type: * -mytag:*     That was then.  Not now.

2. Another method was to sort by Mytag: which kindly offered me blanks--a selection of empty tags.  Not bad!  But no more.

3. Attempted to find missing tags using facets.  Clicked "more" until the cows came home.  Clicked more some more.  More. More. My finger was nearly paralyzed.  At last, muttering, red-eyed, incoherent, I came to the end of my tags but alas--no blanks.

New Solution:  How are now finding untagged resources?

    First solution: type: * -mytag:*

    Second solution: sort by Mytag

    I'm missing something in your problem.  But no, I wouldn't try to find them via the facets. Had you maybe not cleared your facets before trying these?

    Thanks, MJ.  I am VERY pleased to see that the old way still works.

    Unfortunately, not for me.  I restarted Logos, cleaned its facets, but nada.

    Using: 8.0 SR-1  8.0.0.0583

    These Work:

    *

    * -mytag:thisandthat

    * -mytag:??isandthat

    * -mytag:*andthat

    * -mytag:*and*

    Only this does not:

    * -mytag:*

    [Edit:]  Also these do not work:  * -mytag:**   /   * -mytag:?*  (not sure why I would try that)

    Even the facets go dry. Maybe passing cosmic rays are causing this?

    Unfortunately, I need to sleep on this one ... it's one of those nasty when is a blank not a blank problems ... Have you tried a copy and paste of the argument from my post ... being careful there is no space in the front?

    Yes, I did copy and paste your version to be sure. No improvement. I have used this method for years but still make silly errors. Maybe in the morning it will just work.  Thanks.

    Still no success.  On 3 computers. Two are 8.0 and one is 8.1.0.0003.  Ideas?

    Almost any other configuration works, but that one very useful search fails.  What is causing that?

    Edit:  Curiously, this works Fine:   * -mytag:?  but is not my solution.  Variations work such as: * -mytag:?????

    Something seems odd about ?? behavior as well.

    I'm glad for you ... and I can stop wracking my brain.
