Layouts menu bar - slow scrolling

Hi everyone,

I just finished talking to tech support and he said to post this issue on the forum. He said they knew about the problem but was not sure if they would take any action. By posting this it becomes more visible and if there are enough folks impacted by it Logos would try to do something.

Anyway, here is a screen shot of my study layout screen. The top contains all my Bibles and Interlinears, the bottom has all my lexicons and commentaries. There are so many that they all do not fit on the menu bars. To get to a resource that is not visible I have to use the right or left < > to scroll. Problem is I have to repeatedly press the scroll icon multiple times to move through the resources to the desired one. In the older version the resources were compressed (did not show the links) AND the scroll feature was much much faster. This is very slow and adds a lot of time to my studies.

Any suggestions?

What I do is use floating windows that are dedicated to different types of resources. I might have a floating window for lexicons, one for commentaries, and one for misc. resources, in addition to the main Logos window. This keeps the tab bar in any one window from being overcrowded and it lets me organize my resources more.

How about making a passage guide with two sections 'Bibles' and 'Commentaries and Lexicons' you could then open and close the tabs without getting the panels over full.

In general - right-click on a tab / tool and select "Open in a floating window"

I sympathize. You would have roughly three times as many tabs showing in Logos 7, with only a resource/tool icon visible. The Logos 8 Close X takes up space whether or not it is visible, and the linkset icons further increase tab width. Perhaps the best solution is to have Options for showing these icons, particularly as I want linkset and target icons to be visible. We can always close a tab from the right-click menu.

Hi Everyone -

thanks for all of your ideas! Actually my son-in-law solved it for me. If I put the cursor on the menu bar and then two fingers on the Mac track pad I can scroll right and left on the menu bar very quickly. Does not work with the mouse, but it does with the fingers.

So as Inspector Clouseau would say... "The case is solv-ed!"
