logos 8 does not work - i want to go back to version 7
actually i found a lot of bugs :
- the indicator of link set has a heratic comportement, sometimes it appear sometimes not
- sometime the link set are lost !
- when i use a greek version sometime 1x click on word (for select) open a dictionnary (what i dont want) , sometimes not.
- the new tabs are too large i cant see all my tabls on the screen
- i set my notes back to 7 system with a hidden command found on a forum after on hour, that command does not works in french i must change for english to use it - thank you
- with to the 7 system of notes the new pannel for the notes when i open it make that after the bible cannot work i must close the pannel and reopen it.
- i have used intensively notes with the titles for sorting alphabetically , like dictionnary, with the new system i lost all my works, More than 2000 notes
- i have linked more than 1000 notes on words in greek, in the news system they don't appears... and for the these notes i use the titles for sorting..
- well and so on..
- .Actually logos 8 is for my unusable. i want to go back to version 7.
for me logos is not a toy, it a tool (it was a tool), and I used logos with confidence until today..
but actually i must reconsider the use of logos, and anyway i must lost weeks of works and a lot of money. :::the time lost with bugs, the time lost with the interface change, the time lost of my work on the notes and finally the books and bibles i have buy.

Hi Marcel
Welcome to the forums!
I'm sorry to hear that you're disappointed with Logos 8. I can understand your frustration with some of the changes. I'm not a Faithlife employee but I hope I might be able to help with a few things you've mentioned.

I see this as well and agree that it's somewhat annoying. I think that the tabs have been designed to try and preserve as much space as possible, and sometimes that means the link set indicator doesn't appear. It's worth flagging this up if that is something that is important to how you work in Logos. You can always check the link set by clicking on the three dots in the top right of the panel.

I haven't seen this happening yet. Perhaps you could provide an example and/or a screen shot?!

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. Do you mean when you have a Greek Bible linked with a Greek Dictionary/Lexicon (via link set)? One click should on a Greek word should point the dictionary to that same word. This seems to be working ok for me.
Double clicking on a Greek word will open the lexicon that you have set first in your prioritised resources in the Library.

A few people have said the same. In my experience, I got used to it pretty quickly! If you have a lot of tabs open at the same time it is likely to become quite cluttered and difficult to see which resources you have open.

There is a lot of helpful information about Notes here - https://www.logos.com/faq/notes - in case you haven't seen it already.

You shouldn't have lost any notes at all. Have you tried looking at https://documents.logos.com/ to see if they are there. If you can't find your old notes you should contact Faithlife directly and they might be able to help restore them.

The Faithlife developers are excellent when it comes to listening to customers. They watch these forums very closely and often respond when problems arise. If you felt able to stick with Logos 8 for a while I am sure you would see a lot of improvements in future updates.
I really hope you begin to enjoy Logos 8 soon!

Here's another request for information on how to revert to Logos 7. I despise the new tab setup - much too wide. Haven't encountered much else that's a problem, and once a workable solution for the tab display is offered I'd come back to 8. Right now, it's a serious hindrance to efficient work for me.

One offered workaround has been to "Go to Program settings and then decrease Program Scaling and increase Content Scaling."
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

No offence and I know you're trying to help. I smile at this suggestion, since I already scale the program down to 90 for a UI issue, and content down to 90 for another issue (hebrew/aramaic). If I'd updated to L8, I'd need special glasses with even more scaling!
The OP must have really become frustrated when the back-conversion for notes turned his french into english. Or I misunderstood.

Title is not used in the new system. A title that you typed/entered becomes the first part of the note content when transferred e.g.
My title for Jn 1:9
By reference
---> The first line was the title in Logos 7; the second line was my note (Content).
If your note was based on selected text, it used to become the Title, with ellipses (...) if it was too long. In the new Notes, the full text is used in the Anchors section.
KUNG Marcel said:with the new system i lost all my works, More than 2000 notes
I'm not sure your notes were lost. They may take some time to transfer.
The number of results opposite All > will tell you how many notes you have. In the above screenshot, I filtered by Notebook; where Notes test was my Note file in Logos 7. And you can filter in other ways, as shown e.g. by Type (to separate Notes and Highlights), by Resource. The Sorting is different (Date Created above), but you can sort by Reference provided you select Bible in the Reference filter (for bible references).
KUNG Marcel said:i have linked more than 1000 notes on words in greek, in the news system they don't appears... and for the these notes i use the titles for sorting..
Do you see Lemma in the Reference filter? These should be your notes on Greek words. If not, can you track them by another Filter e.g. Notebook, Resource?

After you use the command Set Prefer Notes Tool to No, you have to restart Logos to get back to Logos 7 Notes. Do the same if you go back to the new Notes with Set Prefer Notes Tool to Yes.
