I've been writing a detailed Wiki page on searching, and have most of the information I need. But in order for that page to be complete, I need to know what datatypes Logos supports for searching. I've got quite a good list already, but I know there's lots more out there. Unfortunately, unlike L3, Logos 4 doesn't offer any easy way of finding out new datatypes (although I know it's possible to extract them from the log).

But I'm sure somewhere you have such a list. Could you post it on the forum so I can convert into a wiki format?

This is great, Mark. The short code for AmarnaLetters is amarna, though, not armarna. I will leave it for you to fix in case you're already editing that page. I don't want to stomp on anything you're doing.

Also, you can find a whole bunch more data types in your Logos4.log in the section where it refers to DataTypeManager. You'll find lots of lines of "Creating data type ...." That list won't be exhaustive, of course, as it will be based on only the resources you have in your library. And it doesn't give the long names, only the short names. So Logos still needs to provide something. I suspect it's a constantly moving target, though. Every time they release a new resource, they might be creating a new data type for it if it's something out of the ordinary.

I hope Logos will hand over the real lists, as they must have them in-house, to code the resources and applications.

"GK" appears to be a valid short code for Strongs Greek, just as you already have GGK for the other code that Zondervan uses in many resources.

Most of these were author datatypes (1,361 of them to be precise). With a bit of RegEx I've managed to extract them from the log and dump them in a table. Unfortunately they don't appear to be much use unless you know the work associated with the author (and there's no list of works). I dumped another table of Bible datatypes too.

I've also updated the original table to include all the datatypes in my library. I used L3 to get the additional info (easier than the log).
