Please see https://www.logos.com/support/mac/report-problem so that we get all the logs we need (uploaded and not pasted).
Also include more detail of your problem i.e. how are you searching the layout?
I note two things which may not be connected with the problem:
- 4 GB memory is small for a 64 bit OS and applications. Recommend at least 8 GB
- 16 GB of free space could cause problems when indexing Logos, and affect overall performance of computer (whether HDD or SSD). Aim for at least 15% free space i.e. 38 GB free on a 256 GB drive.

This is a crash that can occur at startup in 8.0 and 8.0 SR-1. For most users who experience it, it seems to be a transient issue that goes away after a restart.
We have not been able to reproduce it, but we are planning to deliver a potential fix in 8.0 SR-2.
