Confusion About Base Packages

Hi,

I was looking at a few starter base packages.  I found I could buy the Reformed Starter package for less than $10.  When scrolling through the resources included, and selecting "New to You", it showed JC Ryle, Charles Hodge, and Louis Berkhof. It recognized that I owned some of the books in those collections, but not all, and it still included them in the list.  Usually, if there are only a few of the books included from a collection, there is a bullet point underneath listing which books specifically are included.  However for these three, there was not.  I thought that it meant that the rest of the books were included in the package.  However, after purchasing, I did not receive any of these books.

Is there an error on the website listing, or an error in the downloading mechanism?

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin, could you take a look at the individual product page for Reformed Starter and tell me if you see the same thing? https://www.logos.com/product/165435/reformed-starter

    Hi Ben,

I bought the Lutheran starter and the Reformed starter packages. I have been considering getting another starter base package.  Here is what I am seeing under Compare Base packages.  It appears to show that there is something in G.K Chesterton, JC Ryle and Charles Hodge that would be new to me.  There is no bullet point showing that there is a specific volume or volumes that would be part of the base package, so it would appear to read that the rest of the volumes would be included. This is what I saw under the Reformed starter package.

I would suggest that under Compare Base packages, that if no volumes would be included in that purchase, then it should not appear on the list of "New To You" items.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Thanks, Kevin. I'm going to be traveling this week but I'll have someone else dig in a bit.

    Hi Kevin,

Just to make you aware, there is no download issue that is causing what you're seeing. The compare page is an attempt to provide a one-to-one comparison between the different families of Base Packages. Because of this, the logic sometimes pulls in collection titles even when you already own the resources that are represented in that collection in the Base Package. Also to clarify, you are not being double charged for any titles that you already own.

I've sent this over to our web team who will look over better ways we can make this comparison info available. At bottom, the product pages for the individual Base Packages themselves should be considered the final list of products that you will receive upon the purchase of the Base Package in question.

Thanks for bring this to our attention!
