Canvas issue or user error?

OK so I just upgraded to 8 and have an issue which is probably user error. I watched the video on canvas but it doesn't seem to help with my problem. If i do a guide search on a topic, word, passage or anything then open a canvas it doesn't seem to allow me to drag anything from the guide into the canvas. Also when I am using canvas and use the insert passage option it does insert the passage but it doesn't list the book & chapter reference just the verse/s. OK what am "I" doing wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong. What you are seeing is exactly how canvas works. It does not currently support dragging text or resources from outside the canvas tool into the canvas. When inserting a passage, the canvas tool does not currently support inclusion of the resource or passage reference. That would need to be added manually, using one of the text objects.

One thing you can do that you may or may not be aware of is copy and paste text from a resource into canvas. You can also copy and paste text from other sources. In the example below, I copied some text from a Logos resource. The I copied you post from the forums and pasted it. For Mac, I have to use Command +V to paste into canvas. You cannot currently copy and paste images.
