indexing woes...

After an update package to L8 was installed and fully reindexed (as happens when new resources are added automatically), I ran a rebuild index to optimize the indexes with everything installed. It's not necessary, but something I have just done for each upgrade I have done for years.

Problem: my computer has now been showing (blue status circle with a number 1 inside) only 4% indexed for two days. I have a tablet PC that is actually my main workhorse and it is "stuck" at 6% for the same three days.

Desktop Lenovo K430. 2tb (mech) HD, 1tb free, 12g ram

tablet PC is an ASUS (8gRAM, 2 128gssd, has 7g free on one, and the drive logos is installed has 40g free, it actually appears to have finished it's indexing after 3 days it was at 6% last night, and this morning doesn't show that it's indexing.  how can I tell if it completed?

the only way I know of to "know" if indexing isn't complete (outside the blue circle) is to open a search tab and it has a warning message that the results may be incomplete.

See https://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging and enable logging. Restart your computer & Logos. If the problem persists, upload the compressed log files folder.

The Indexer icon will not be showing in the Windows Task bar/Notification area.

There is no warning message in the Search panel.

The Indexer (LogosIndexer.exe) is not running in Task Manager (check Background processes).

That 7 GB is way too low for efficient operation of Windows and the drive, particularly if it is the System C: drive! You need at least 20 GB free

"way too low" has been working for a couple years. in fact, I cleaned of more space than it has had in over a year!  AND - that system is the one that is working!

The Lenovo started working, clicking up on indexing percentage today after I restarted from an update. 8.0 sr-1 8.0.0.0583

    Good.

I realise it is not where Logos is installed; which is why I commented as I did. The opinion is that the SSD drive should have between 25-30% free space, or 30-36 GB in your case!
