Can someone explain the parenthetical note (late or early) found on some timeline events?  I'm interested in understanding the basis that generally influences one or the other.

Thanks

    Sure Erin.

The reason some have an early or late note attached is because there are differing dating methods from different schools of thought. So the event is on the timeline twice to show both schools of thought.

Example: The 1st Egyptian Dynasty entry shows a late and early date. If you click on it it will give you resources that will go into explanation about the timeline of events and why there are two dates.

    Hope this helps.
