Bug: poor net connection results in blank app view

It seems that the Logos app can handle no connection, or a good connection. If a bad connection is there then it doesn't handle it. I was away this last week and for whatever reason my laptop worked on the wifi but neither my phone or ipad did. They connected but could not view pages. I could only use Logos on either device by disabling the wifi. My opinion is that the app should be able to handle a bad connection by falling back on downloaded resources.

I don't think it handles no connection either.  This morning in church, my wifi connection was spotty, and the Logos app was unable to open Scripture passages, even though I've downloaded the resource.  When I got home, I confirmed that it worked fine with my wifi connnection, so I then turned off wifi entirely on my iPad.  Sure enough, Logos was unable to open the passage and acted as if I hadn't even attempted to open the passage.

This has been happening to me for a while, and it may have even occurred with version 7, but I didn't notice that it was related to the wifi connection, since I assumed that I should be able to use downloaded resources, even if offline.

As it stands, there is no reason to download resources at all, and makes the app entirely unusable.  I'm going to have to use Olive Tree for the forseeable future until this gets fixed.  If this were just a recent bug, I'd be more hopeful, but I've had this issue almost every Sunday for months now.  I'm hoping that this is just a temporary situation.

I use my iPad constantly to read Logos books. But when I take it to the mountains removed from all technology, it doesn't work at all. Not even the books I've downloaded. Why does Logos require that the App be connected to Logos to work? Can't it work offline?

There are two issues here. First, it is supposed to allow you to read your downloaded resources, take notes & highlight, while offline. It may be that your installation has become corrupted. The only solution is to delete and reinstall... which is one of the reasons why I strongly suggest being judicious in your downloads. Only have what you absolutely need.

The second part: FL relies on the servers to perform library searches (rather than searching a single book), to run guides and other features. Those things do require an internet connection.
