Installation of 4.0d Update requires explicit Administration Rights

Hi there,

One little points relating to the Logos 4.0d Beta 1 update I received earlier today. After Logos has downloaded this update (from 4.0c-SR1) I am prompted to install. When I do this I receive the following error message:

"Error writing to file: %appdata%\local\logos4\system\es\Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Controls.resources.dll"
Verify that you have access to that directory

The installation will continue to fail if I restart Logos until I right-click on the shortcut and start Logos with Administator rights. At this point it will install fine. This issue started with one of the betas of 4.0c but I can't quite remember which one. In the past I've not had to do this. I am running Win 7 x64 as an administrator. It's not a big issue but a minor irritation.

I believe it's always been that way. I always have to use Admin rights for installs. I actually set up Logos to permanently run as Admin so I don't have to worry about it when an update happens (don't send the security police after me!)

I had this problem too, and resolved it by renaming my installation directory, then making a full copy of it. Somewhere in the midst of a backup-upgrade-to-win7-restore permissions had gotten jinky and only making a fresh copy would resolve them.

I never installed Logos with the elevation to Admin and I haven't done it even with Logos 4.0d Beta. Everything works just fine.

Once you use "run as admin" you have to continue doing so for software updates. The only way out is to re-install L4 after deleting the Logos4 folder!

FWIW I have had to install with Amdin rights on 2 different computers since the early days of 4.0. I am ok with it, but something is causing the need...
