When I try and open documents or guides, the right side of the drop down menu (library i guess) says 'loading' for about 3 seconds and the whole program crashes.

It's possible that your TEMP folder is full. Please try deleting all files and subfolders in:
C:\Users\wolla\AppData\Local\Temp
Just did that. Didn't help.
