References to Notebooks are lost in Favorites

Hello

I have loads of studies of different topics arranged in my Favorites. Typically I will gather passagelists, one or two collection of clippings as well as word studies e t c. And I will also have created one or more notebooks about the studied topic. I have added shortcuts to all the connected types of documents under the topic in my favorites pane. In Logos 8 all the shortcuts to notebooks are lost. Clicking on a shortcut just opens a notes pane with all of my thousands of notes.

What am I doing wrong or is it no longer possible to add a shortcut to a specific notebook to Favorites?

When you drag the Notes tab into Favorites it will save as Notes. Right click and rename it for the view that you saved e.g. if you were viewing a specific Notebook, use that name for your Favorite.  In a future release, it would be possible to drag Notebooks from the Documents menu.

    Hi Dave

Well, that's the way I have always done it but in Logos 8 clicking the created shortcut will only sometimes open the linked notebook. Many times the most recent notebook will instead be opened or sometimes any random notebook.

However, my chief concern is that all shortcuts to notebooks in the Favorites pane that were created using Logos 7 or earlier no longer work. Clicking those shortcuts just opens the Notes pane with all of my notes ever created. Has anybody else encountered this?

I am assuming that part of the problem is that the notes file that your favorites references from L7 technically does not exist in L8. You are not the first person to bring this up but I have not seen a definitive answer if this is just deprecated or if they are working on a solution/fix.

Came to the forums searching for a solution to adding a specific notebook to my favorites. Just wanted to update the thread for others that this is now possible.
