Resources about Tanakh Verse Order
This year I've been reading the Tanakh alongside the Christian Standard Version (CEV). I know that the order of books differs in the Tanakh and, in many instances, the versification also differs. I'm interested in finding out more about the history of its versification. I've poked around searching my Logos resources and the internet and read a number of general articles about it but really have not found any good resources that explain the technical reasons for the different versification. Any recommendations?

I don't know for sure, but I believe the issue is that the Tanakh follows the versification found in the Hebrew Bible and the traditional English translations tend to follow the Septuagint versification. You should be able to fairly easily confirm by checking the Tanakh against a Hebrew Bible, like BHS or LHB.

Thanks Phil. I understand the general reasons why. I was just looking for some more historical/technical details.
