I've truly love the new faceted drop-downs in all the places in L8. The library and the search are my favorites. Im sure this idea has been floated before, however, here it goes again. A faceted drop-down on the Go Box might be a great thing. L8 is awesome because it does so many thing. But the more it can do the more user unfriendly it becomes. FL is great at listening and adding new features. But, it is really a full time job trying to stay current on everything that L8 L9 L10 etc. can do and how to do it. A faceted Go Box could make it easier, like the faceted search allows us to do awesome searches with out remembering how do I... ? What do you all think? Thanks for all the wonderful help we get here on the forums from great volunteers!

What are you expecting to see in the 'faceted' drop-down?

    Could be the whole gambit.

I want to read a book you chose.

I need to report a possible bug.

Study this passage in a devotional way.

                                    in a Bible study way.

                                    for a sermon.

                                    for leading a Bible Study.

                                    for Historical Back Ground.

What do the Ancient writers have to say about John 1:1-5.

Find other uses of "blank word" used in a similar way in the NT.

Show me some Training video possibilities.

Guide me through a study of Jeremiah 15. The drop down gives possible types of studies. For all of the above also.

    Help me prioritize English Bibles.

                                 Greek Lexicons

                                 Hebrew Grammars

                                 Gospel commentaries.

This looks like I'm saying you type these things in. No, narrow down from facets. To these things.

    Maybe you select. Exegetical Study

    Then                      Hebrew

Then pick between Passage or Word or Root.

I see this as a way to do everything Logos can do.

I have not been clear with what I am thinking. Does anyone get what I am talking about? A menu attached to the Go Box that makes L8 easier to use. Instead of having to know the words that make the Go Box function they would be in a menu. Is this not feasible? Not helpful? Or are you not understanding what I am saying?

I'm not sure I'm totally on the same wavelength yet...might just need more time to think it through. I could see this potentially happen if/when Faithlife Assistant gets robust enough and possibly integrated into the go box!

Thanks for your answer. I will open another post in the suggestions forum with mock up pictures. To show what I am talking about.

A faceted drop-down works with well-defined, known, information about a domain, and presents that in ways that allow you to see results for the individual parts, and combine them with results from other parts.

What you are asking has to be specified, as the domain is not finite, and they can't easily combine with results from other parts. It's a query template, supposedly what Faithlife Assistant was designed for. You will see that it has a defined command set, and may well not satisfy your needs.
