OT: Struggles at Mt Athos
This thread is only meant for Mt Athos fans (or sort of fans). And of course any Kirsopp fans too.
Mt Athos is a Greek island near Thessalonica for Bible folks. It was the destination of monks from monasteries in Egypt, when over-run by the Muslims many moons removed. As a result, it has a long history of old manuscripts, as well as the Orthodox church.

I think we're looking at incontraversable proof, Joseph (not Mary or the baby Jesus) sold off the gifts in Alexandria. The gifts, then, were protected by future Christian monks, until the muslim hoards forced their removal to Mt Athos. What a detective story!

It is interesting that the Ukraine-Russia tensions reach all the way to Mount Athos. I've been poking around in my Logos library to find out a bit more history.
