Home page disappears

Here's what happening. Logos is opened up to the Home page with all the information laid out. Without opening anything up, let's say I have a browser opened up and that is what I am looking at. Here's what happens. I click on the icon for the browser (or any other program) bringing that program up into full view.

Then clicking on the Logos icon brings up Logos but without the Home Page showing or should I say, it's blank. Clicking on the Home page brings back all the information, so I click on another icon and bring that program up. Then clicking on Logos, the information is gone again in the Home Page, like just totally blank. And I do not have it set for a blank layout. Any idea as to what cause this and how to fix that?

    I can't reproduce this.

My guess - and it's all it is - is that it is some sort of video display issue.

Try checking you have the latest video drivers installed.

This happens to me as well. If I have the home page open, and then clik away to another program, when I click back to Logos the home page disappears and I have to click the home page button to reopen it.

I've got the latest drivers for this machine plus, being a 5 year old laptop, ASUS is not bothering any more with drivers. Nothing has changed on their site for close to 4 years for updates for this unit.

The fact that you Kiyah are finding the same issue says something is awry. I've seen this happen with Logos 8 in spells. In other words, it will do it at time and other times no. It's not enough to topple one over the edge but it's still scary.

I feel like I didn't noticed this until Logos 8.1. Are you running 8.0 or 8.1? Did you notice it with the latest update or is that just my imagination?

Honestly Kiyah, I'm not sure but it seems it began early on with Logos 8. But I wouldn't stake my supper on it. I should add, when I first click on the Logos icon, whatever is on the Homepage is there and then disappears a split second after.

Further edit - I found shutting down Logos and restarting it fixed the problem. But when using Logos and closing down for instance, a Dictionary or a Word Search and bringing it back to the Home page, the problem will manifest itself again.

From where I'm sitting, this is a glitch in the software that should be looked at by Logos.

I see Logos has still not addressed this problem thus far. Has anyone been experiencing this as of late?

I just checked and also getting this happening, although only when I do not have a layout open.

If I have a layout open, and click on the home button to bring to view, when I leave the application and return, the layout is again activate, rather than the home screen.

I can confirm this. I have had this problem since updating to Logos 8. I have this problem on both of my laptops and regardless of having connected a second screen or not. The problem does not manifest itself right after opening Logos. I have it start to the home screen and it will stay on that, even when switching to and from other programs. But after I have opened a layout the first time, the problem appears. If I have an open layout, then click on home and then switch to another program and back to Logos, I will see the layout again instead of the home screen. If I hit the "Close all panels"-button and that way move back to the home screen, then switch to another program and back to Logos, I will see an empty layout instead of the home screen. All of this seems to happen consistently

Thanks for the replies! Both your descriptions fits to a T as to what I'm experiencing. Apparently, Logos isn't taking this one too serious. This is a problem that's been ongoing since last year (when Logos bounced onto the scene) and really should have been fixed by now in my judgment.

To fix it, they have to be able to reproduce it. It doesn't appear to be a widespread issue, but rather something unique about your computer or installation. I would suggest that the three of you provide logs to logos.

Actually, Logos has come aboard this computer a ways back (maybe April or earlier) and saw what it was doing. Then I was informed they did indeed reproduce it on their home computers. It was submitted by them to what I'll call the 'tech department' but I've not heard anything since. Apparently, there's stuff that takes precedence over this issue or it's been forgotten.

I'm having the same experience, it started a couple updates ago, I running beta. It no problem, but hope it doesn't develop into one.

Strange this only appeared on your system since two updates ago. This has been going on since Logos 8 for myself. If there are others who are not having this problem, they're not coming forward in droves. Does it really take six months to a year to overcome a problem like this? At least once a week or so, it seems we're getting updates for something but when it come to something like this, it drags on for ever!
