Setting up a list of Books to Read on my iPad

I recently upgraded to Logos 8 and last month i got a new iPad Pro 12.9" with 256 gigs of memory. I didn't know what to do with all that memory, but 64 gigs wasn't enough for all my apps and docs, so i went to the next larger size of 256 gigs. It just occurred to me that i now have way way more room than'll ever use, so i might as well have the Logos Mobile App download all my resources since i found that there is a convenient option to do this. That way all my books are available to read and or search and study when i am in places without Wi-Fi.

Now that i'm downloading 40 gigs of files into Logos, it seems that a good next step would be to set up a collection or list of books that i can use for reading in the Logos Mobile App. I mainly use my iPad for reading and listening to books and podcasts, cutting and pasting notes into Evernote and building Keynotes for teaching Adult CE classes at church.

I'd appreciate any tips of good ways to build a useable To-Read list in the Logos Mobile App.

I tag my books to read as "toread". If you want a prioritized list, you could tag them "toread1", "toread2", etc. The only problem with this second method is updating the order when you finish a book (have to change all the tags).

Mytag:toread works well enough for me. I just pick out a book from that list and read it, then I change the tag to "completed".

several questions:

1. Can i tag resources with mytag:toread from the Logos Mobile App?

2. If i can, then how do i use that tag from within the Logos Mobile App to access resources tagged this way?

this serms like a kludge, but if there isn’t any other way at least it’s something. I was hoping for something more along the lines of making a collection or a subset of favorites or something that would use a menu option or tool to access.

Accessing it is very easy, you just type mytag:toread in the library window, the same as on the desktop. If you hit the info button, you can see your current tags. But I do not think it is possible to add tags on mobile.

You might want to search this forum and the previous mobile forum for all the threads containing reasons you may not want to download all your resources. While I'm not wild about the practical challenges - we should be able to download them and have things work well through all kinds of situations, scenarios, use-cases - the challenges are real and are the reason I don't do what you've done.

I'd appreciate any tips of good ways to build a useable To-Read list in the Logos Mobile App.

In additional to the tagging tip, I use Favorites as a to-read list. One advantage is that you can add to the Favorites from both the desktop and the mobile.

I concur with Donnie's advice about not downloading every resource. There just doesn't seem to be much advantage to it unless you are away from wi-fi for long periods of time. And if you have to delete the app and reinstall—ouch, 40 gigs re-download.

What I have done for several years now is make a prayer list and relabel it a reading list. Then I list my books in order e.g. "1 - [Book Name]" this way I have the books I want to read in the order I want to read them. It is always on my homepage as a tab
