New purchase (3 days(.  Each time I open Logos, I get a message that my library is loading and or indexing.  Should this happen every time I boot up the program? Time consuming.

Hello William and welcome to the forums. 

Depending on what package you purchased, you could have a substantial download. Then there can be features that require installations (restarts of Logos) and the whole library will be indexed. The more new resources, the longer indexing takes. So, if this is your very first time using this software and your library is substantial, you might want to leave Logos on and do other things. It's a bit like a large Windows reinstallation. Takes quite a while.

Now, if this has been going for three days straight, then it could be abnormal. 

What package is it (Gold? Platinum? etc.)?

Have you left it to index the whole time or not?

Well I tend to suspect there is a bug.  I get the yellow background message many times a day when I re-open Logos.  I've been told that the metadata is being updated.  That certainly would explain it but that would mean that new metadata updates are be pushed every few hours which I find hard to believe.

Usually it goes away after a minute or two so it does not impact my ability to use the software, rather it is annoying.  I figure at some point in the future it will be fixed, if it is a bug.

In Library, that could be caused by your activity when changing user metadata e.g. when tagging/rating. Otherwise, it is caused by a metadata sync from Faithlife, and it could happen every few hours as metadata is checked frequently. It also happens when resources are being downloaded.

In Search, it appears when resources are being indexed.
