I just wrote a longer response in the thread that Bob posted a while back.
Succint, here: SEND AN EMAIL ANNOUNCEMENT to ALL LIBRONIX CUSTOMERS about the inception of this forum.
Emphasize three things: COMMUNITY, GET SUPPORT BEYOND THE PHONE STAFF'S LIMITATIONS, and SHARE YOUR IDEAS.
I've been asking for the forum for several years, and just happened to discover the leeetle teeensy word at the top left of the page, while I happened to be visiting the Prepub's.
THANK YOU LOGOS!

It is, without question, the best strategic decision. It is a pity that it does not have an NNTP gateway, but having the involvement of a larger community base outweighs this even if it never materializes.
However, I will say this to agree with some of the detractors... IMHO, it is not the best implementation of a web forum. I think it is a fair critique that the navigation can be improved.

I'm one of them. I keep trying to like it. But it's just so clunky compared to the newsgroups. But since it is unlikely to convince people that an old technology actually is better, we're stuck with them. So I'm trying to like it.
Here are my basic problems: 1) much harder to navigate than either newsgroups or other forums; 2) can't get a quick overview of all the discussions going on in one glance (like newsgroups); 3) many features are still undocumented (see my post on June 6); 4) I can only view a small number of maximum posts (15) per page (I'd like to set this at 50 if not 100); 5) It is impossible to track conversations, since their is no way to view conversations threaded, and the number of posts per page is so small; 6) It has no NNTP interoperability; 7) there's no simple way to track responses to my posts, without enabling email responses -- this is the most ironic 'solution' of all, since I previously viewed the NNTP conversations through my email client, where I could respond directly to the conversations.
But I'm still trying to like it. Really. I do like the avatars, which add a positive dimension, I think. It's great that it is an interface that more people will use; and are using. Beyond that, I can't think of any advantages to this over NNTP. But I'm still looking.
