Bug: Search broken on iPad
I open a search window, do searches, after a certain amount of time, when I try to change the search parameters, it fails and I have to completely close the app - or even delete and re-install If that fails. Seriously, why are we using Faithlife stuff. I haven’t like most of the changes that were ported over, don’t like the mobile app (think it should work like web or desktop).
Here is a video on the search blowout.

Sorry - I’ve watched the video and don’t really understand what you are demonstrating.
Are you saying that sometimes trying to change the search parameters doesn’t work?
If so, are there any repeatable steps to cause it or does it seem random?

The problem is that when you search, in my case the last search was the Poetic books, you’re stuck on that place to search from. It won’t change even though it says that it has changed to your new choice. I understand the guys frustration. Though Logos and Faithlife and still my favorite and go to Bibles. But there needs to be an update to fix this.
Thanks

Sorry but I still don't understand
I've just run a search in Revelation, then switched to John, and it works correctly.
Are you able to post screenshots to demonstrate the issue?

Graham and Steve. Perhaps it swithcing to a specific version and searching in that that triggers the bug? I search in NKJV specifically. That’s when i see the glitch occur mostly.
Being specific about this, what version were you searching in?
Plus you asked for screenshot, when I literally posted a video, lol. That’s kinda showing it right?

I was using the NIV but I've just tried in NKJV and it works fine for me.

As I posted above I'm afraid when I looked at the video I couldn't work out what the issue was.
Having looked at the video again I see now that the issue is that when you try to change the search range it doesn't stick.
When you close the app and restart it, the video shows you searching in Top Bibles and - in that context - being able to change the search range. If you switch to just NKJV can you still do so?
Is the NKJV downloaded to your device? If so, try removing it and seeing whether things work properly with the resource in the cloud.

Note: This is on the iPad with the latest iOS.
Lets go through the steps. I have a basically new install right now - and NKJV is downloaded. I would also note that even though I switch to a non-downloaded resource (bible) I cannot switch from All Passages right now. So I will completely close the app and switch to a non-download resource before searching.
- After closing the app completely the search functionality is still limited. I can change the Bible type but not the search location.
- Close search window open another (not closing app).
- Used top right bug to open new search window - changed location to bible didn't change Top bibles, changed to OT no problem. Change to John no problem. Search word: love
- Switch to NKJV. Switch location. No problem, changes and searches.
- Swipe to another window in app and back: no problems noted.
- Switch to Apple Pages and back: and no problems.
- Its not consistent. It works then doesn't. Trying to find the "trigger". Wonder if copy paste.
If I find something that I can consistently make it break, will report back.

I don't see this - I can change both the Bible type and the search location

What happens if you open the search window from the bar at the bottom - tapping the three horizontal bars and selecting search from there?

Amen thanks Grahm. I’ve been using Logos and now Faithlife through the ages and it’s been nice to have my collected logos library on my iPad and phone. A bug had to pop up somewhere. It’s the cursed world we live in thanks again. Btw the faithlife commentary is a great work. I keep it and a few other purchased ones constantly running. Great rescourse
