Notes Unstable

I am finding that adding notes to to my Bible reading  in L8 mobile (ipad) has been unstable.  When I add a note, sometimes it will be marked and sometimes it is not marked.  When I go to retrieve a note, sometimes  all the words of the note are there, sometimes there are missing words.  In addition, there is always a hesitation in bringing up the notes. 

Also, I am finding that my notes are not being carried over to the web app.

Should I expect this as a software challenge or a hardware challenge?
