Window Layout Resizing "Issue"

I'm using a 2016 MacBook Pro 13" with a Dell U4919DW 49" ultrawide monitor. I'm guessing this "problem" is due to the increased resolution. When I try to resize a window, the window will "snap" to a window size of predetermined width. However, the snap margin accounts for 2" on the monitor. I'd like to have the flexibility to adjust with greater variability. Being able to adjust the size in 1/2" increments would be a welcome addition. Is there a way to do this in the settings, or does this require a feature request?
