I think I remember seeing this sometime earlier in a Logos 8 forum. This is obviously a font issue, not sure whether it is related to a localized UI or not. If I recall correct, I asked the poster of a similar screenshot to check the default font and maybe set it to something delivered with Windows, such as Arial. He/She did so and it worked => so this may be your best next step.

It worked.The user switched the default type font to Logos 7 Default and it solved the problem.
