Where are highlights in “no notebook” stored?
Hi all,
I experienced the problem many others recently faced where my notes/highlights weren’t syncing between devices. This caused me to check out documents.logos.com, like I’ve done in the past when I’ve had syncing issues.
When I checked documents.logos.com I saw that my last document was listed as being from December 8. However, this struck me as odd, because I had been making highlights after that point and they had been syncing (at least, up until just recently when the syncing problem emerged), although these higlights aren’t (and presumably weren’t) showing up at documents.logos.com — even though they exist in a cloud somewhere presumably, otherwise how could they sync across devices?
My question is, where are my highlights currently being stored, if they are not visible in documents.logos.com?
I’m wondering if this has to do with the new changes to notes under Logos 8. With the new upgrade to notes in Logos 8, notes no longer have to be kept in a notebook. By default, mine are now placed in “no notebook.” (Previously I had my settings such that any highlights I made in a book were automatically placed in a notebook bearing the name of that resource. I have not manually changed those settings, although now my notes are no longer being filed this way. So second, maybe related question, why did that change on me? And how do I access the settings to modify the default filing of my highlights? I can’t seem to find these settings anymore.)

Note documents ("Notes") listed in documents.logos.com are the "old" note documents. The equivalent in the new system is the Notebooks.

As far as I know, notes not assigned to a Notebook will not be visible on documents.logos.com. If you wish to see them there, you could bulk select all of those and assign them to a "General" notebook. Your highlights are now all stored in a single database on your computer (which is of course also replicated on the FaithLife servers). If you have the ability to browse a SQLite database you can find whatever you need to that way...

Resource-specific notebooks are no longer necessary since that's part of the automatically added metadata on each note. For this reason, that option was removed from the highlight palette. This is still, however, the place to set your preferences for a default notebook.

How do you bulk select highlights are are not in a notebook? I can't seem to figure out a way to find all of them.
