searching for phrases in notes tool
I am using Logos 8 and have really appreciated the new Notes tool. Today I wanted to search for a phrase in all of my notebooks. If I type the phrase "kingdom of heaven" (enclosed in either quotation marks or brackets) in the search bar at the top of the Notes Tool, it will show all notes that have all three words in them, regardless of whether they are in a single phrase or not. Is it possible to search for phrases in the notes? If so, how do I structure the query?

I'm not sure whether this is possible, but I think it should be. Perhaps it's a feature they will add in the future, or perhaps they have it now.
Until you get a better answer, or the feature is added, I would suggest tagging notes as much as possible. "Kingdom of Heaven" would make for a good tag anyway.
Box 1 is where you add the tag to the note. Box 2 is where you can filter all your notes by the tag.

Assuming that you are using the desktop version of Logos 8, any active filter can prevent the search from showing what's there in your Notes.
I got 69 matches. Your results will vary.

Jack, this is what I tried. But the results include all notes that have the words "kingdom", "of" and "heaven" in them, not just where those words are found in a single phrase. I am looking for a way to search for a particular phrase in Notes like we can in a Bible search. Currently, Notes is looking for the 3 words as if they were not enclosed in quotation marks.

If you search for three words, you get all matches for any of the words. It's as if you typed OR to separate the words.
If you only want to match the phrase "kingdom of heaven," you need to enclose the search string in double quotes.
Just be sure to clear the filter facets, and you're good to go.

This does not work on my machine (Windows and Logos 8). Enclosing the phrase in double quotes, single quotes, square brackets, round brackets or no quote or brackets at all makes no difference. The results are the same (302 results).

Hi Ken
I get the same results as you and think this must either be a bug or something that should be changed

Ken, you are correct. I should have checked ALL the hits in my results.
Perhaps the kind folks at Faithlife will tell us how to search for a phrase, rather than the individual words.
