Canvas - inserting passage but without the reference

Hello

Trying to use the canvas tool to do a topical study on Jesus´"my commandments" in John 15:10. I like to insert a numer of relevant bibel passages as a kind of explanatory mindmap of. However when inserting passages the reference does not follow along. 

Is there a way to automatically have the canvas tool add the reference of passages added? It's cumbersome to manually add text fields with the passage reference.

Any advice?
