I have just finished writing a 580 A4 page book. It took me around a year and a half, whilst working at a full time job, a part time job, and completing a Masters degree part time. I could not have done it in that time without Logos 4. That is simply a fact. The bibliography alone runs to 27 pages, citing around 400 works. Trying to research this book with print resources would have been crippingly laborious, unless I had a personal research team, which I don't. I had to do all the research myself in my spare time, and didn't even have a proof reader.
We're all familiar with the fact that Logos recommends its software on the basis that it provides an extensive electronic library with a host of tools enabling Bible study to be carried out faster, and simpler than with print resources. Well it's true. That's not just marketing talk, it's a fact.
Special mention goes to the following collections in my Logos library, which I found particularly useful:
* Portfolio
* Theological Journal Library
* Essential IVP Reference Collection
* Early Church History Collection
* NICOT/NICNT
* NIGNT
* Word Biblical Commentary (unfortunately I don't have quite the entire collection yet)
* JPS Tanakh Commentary Collection
* My Jewish collection (JPS Guide to Jewish Traditions, Jewish Law, Mishnah, Encyclopedia of Judaism)
* Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary (get it, just get it)
* My lexicon collection (ANLEX, BDAG, EDNT, GELS, Louw/Nida, LSJ, Newman, Spicq, Swanson, TDNT, Zodhiates)
There are a number of other resources which were very useful, but many of them are actually in Portfolio (which I already mentioned), and some of the others I just can't remember right now.
Thank you Logos for an outstanding product. I couldn't have done it without you.
