Homepage Bug

I made several (4) reading plans that started on or around January 1, 2019. So, I added those cards to the homepage with my other reading plans. Every time the homepage updates, the new plans get removed and I every day I add them back only to be removed again when it updates. This cannot be the proper use of the homepage.

Strange - I don't see this

I'm intrigued by this - creating the plans should automatically add the cards to the homepage.
What sort of plans are they?
What version of the Logos app and on which platform?

First, I made a plan of all the Mobile Ed certificate courses I have to do all the way out toe 2027. Next, I made a plan for 28 preaching resources I identified I want to read. Then I am reading the complete works of Jonathan Edwards so I made that plan with those resources. Finally my bible reading plan which is the CSB for 2019. The plans I am reading before January and these were created with Logos 7 stay populated. Only the new plans I have to keep adding every day it updates. I am running Windows 10 and the current beta.

So I think the first three plans at least were created as custom plans. Is that correct?
And is the CSB reading plan "custom" as well?
Not sure if this is relevant but it may be significant.

I only make custom plans, but I think maybe I did use a plan from Faithlife for the CSB, created a mirror for the LEB also. The type of plan should not matter for the card it creates.

Matt,
I cannot reproduce this. Can you confirm for me the specific OS version you are running (not just the OS but any specific build number) along with the version of Logos? Also would you mind sharing those reading plans with me? If that is ok then please respond and I will message you on Faithlife and invite you to a private group you can share them with.

My windows build number is Windows 10 Home build 1809.
My logos number is beta 8.2 Beta 2 8.2.0.0004.
Yes, I can share the reading plans with you, but there are older plans that stay on the homepage and the new ones that started after the first keep disappearing after the homepage refreshes. So, do you want all the plans or just the ones disappearing?

Ok, done. Sent all the reading plans disappearing to the group you invited me too.

Matt,
I added those reading plans and they stayed on my Home Page. I was using the version I just shipped. Can you confirm that this is still an issue on 8.2 Beta 3? If it is could you make certain that logging is enabled (see the link in my signature). Then do the following:
- Launch Logos and add the reading plans to your Home Page.
- Quit the application.
- Zip a copy of your logs.
- Relaunch the application and confirm that the reading plans are gone from the Home Page.
- Get a 2nd copy of your logs with the reading plans gone.
- Upload them to this thread.
Please label the two zip folders so we can tell the difference.

0550.Logos First Step.zipI was hoping with Beta 3 it would fix itself, but nope. Here are the two logs.

Thanks Matt,
I've filed a case.

Thanks and it might be easier to just use the reading plan itself to click on today's reading and forget the cards for now. Which I will do as a workaround until it's fixed.

With 8.3 Beta 1 just released. I no longer lose those cards when it refreshes. I lose those cards every time the homepage closes and opens. That's new unwelcome behavior.

Noted, Matt. This case was already next in the queue, but your feedback adds a little more urgency. We'll get it fixed as soon as we can.

I know it's not normal behavior, but it's not so bad to populate the card I have to read and read it and then it disappears and tomorrow do the same thing. Only 4 reading plans that way. It's like things that started after January 1 is what I am having problems with. Some of those I made in early 2018 and waited till January 1 to start reading it. But thanks Adam, I hope it's fixed soon.

Recently, Writing and Research: A Guide . . . released and I made a reading plan out of it that worked and populates the homepage like it should. Today, I acquired many new preaching resources I want to add to my preaching reading plan. But I am going to delete my current plan and start over then see if it will populate. If so, that means reading plans made before the new year won't populate the homepage. If that's the case I will delete all the reading plans not working and make them again. If not, no harm and it will be fixed when it's fixed.

Ok, these reading plans I made in 2018 before Logos 8 and they started January 1 there or about. Those four did not populate the homepage and the bug is somewhere there because that should not happen. But the preaching resources and the CSB read I am doing this year I made new plans that start Monday and they populate the homepage like that should. Therefore, I am deleting the Edwards reading plan and will start it back up next year. The two bible reading plans and the preaching reading plans I am starting over Monday now populate the homepage. I am not sure why they did not populate the homepage but as far as I am concerned I found a workaround that fixes the problem for me. But the underlying issue is still there.

Hello Matt,
Logos 8.3 should fix the problem you were having with Reading Plans on the Dashboard. Let us know if it is not resolved after updating to 8.3. This should download and install automatically if you have automatic updates enabled in Tools > Program Settings. You can check the version of Logos by typing about Logos in the Go bar at the top and clicking “Show About Logos Bible Software” (see attached image).
