Need help on how to exegete a text

Good evening Guys 

My Name is Pastor Morgan I'm currently attending New York Theological Seminary, December 3rd my proposal was approved.  That was a very stressful year.  I'm facing new challenges in 2019 (lol)   My professor asked me to exegete Luke 10:25-36 for my research question.  The problem I'm having,   how do I exegete this text?  Do break the words down in it's original language  Greek or Hebrew. or do I just write like a sermon.  I really don't know.  help please  any example would be appreciated.

What classes have you taken/books you have read on interpreting scripture and exegesis. There are many different approaches that can be taken.

Also, look at the Exegetical Guide - how much of the information here is familiar to you in the sense of your knowing how to use the data?
