CANVAS TOOL

I am trying to work my way around the canvas tool. So far, I find it the most frustrating tool to try to use; but perhaps that is my lack of knowledge. But in learning about it I see on the website where you can create charts and diagrams. How would you go about doing that? I even see one screen shot where it looks like there is a timeline in the canvas. How would you go about creating those charts and how would you make your work space bigger or your fonts smaller? Thanks!

    Animated Images:

    1) Paper Size

    • Click on Canvas
    • Open Properties
    • Set Paper Size

    2)MultiPage View

The canvas automatically increase with the Page Size when your objects are sized beyond the Page or when you have multiple objects and drag any of them beyond the Page Size.

    • I used Ctrl+D on the Selected Object to duplicate

    3) Zoom Canvas

    • Click on a blank space in Canvas
    • Ctrl+MouseWheel Zoom Canvas
    • Not in image (Shift+MouseWheel Scroll Canvas East and West)

    4)Text Size and Duplicate

    Size

    • Click Text Object to Select
    • Click Properties
    • Click Text Tab
    • Edit Size

    Duplicate

    • Click on blank space in Canvas
    • In Properties, set the Grid size (When duplicating the new object will offset with the size of the grid
    • Select the Object
    • Press Ctrl+D to duplicate (each Ctrl+D keystroke will create a new duplicate with the offset of the grid in x,y increments from the last object

    5) Arrange Items

See the Arrange Tab in Properties for options to arrange all selected objects quickly for creating a timeline.
