Cross References in Logos

Cross-references are a great way of interpreting scripture. But when you have more than one verse the cross-references can get confusing. For example, run one verse at a time, each one has different cross-reference(s). Now, run more than one verse, you get cross-reference from those verses, but how do you know which cross-references go with each verse? Logos should create some type of cross-reference separation tool that will match each verse with its cross-reference(s). Or do we have that tool in Logos 8, or can Logos create such a tool?

There are several ways to get cross-references in Logos...I assume you are talking about cross-references found in the Passage Guide or the separate Cross-References guide (both in Guides menu). I agree, those can be pretty confusing if you have more than one verse in the verse box. FL would do well to put verse separators in.

Try this as a workaround: use the separate Cross-References guide and put one verse in the verse box. True, it would slow you down a tad, but by having a separate guide for cross-references (new in Logos 8), it wouldn't be as bad as typing a single verse into the entire Passage Guide and waiting for it to repopulate each time.

Also check out the Important Passages Guide...I find myself going there instead of Cross-References now. You'll still have to type in one verse at a time to see each verse separately, but it lists the most used cross references that commentaries use.

    Hope this helps a bit.
