New Theology Guide Better?
How is the new Theology Guide in Logos 8 different or better than my current ability to search all my theology resources for a word or phrase? Is the upgrade worth it?

Is it worth it to upgrade just for the Theology Guide? No. It is supposed pull together all the different theological topics/loci in the systematic theology books in your library, but so far they only have FIVE, count them, FIVE systematic theologies indexed this way.
This thread has more information plus links to a couple older ones. There are good reasons to upgrade to Logos 8--good deals on new library packages chief among them--but the Theology Guide is not one, not yet at least. I think it will be good eventually, but it is likely to take a couple of years.

Assuming that you meant to ask about the Theological Guide itself rather than Lexham Survey of Theology/Lexham Systematic Theology Ontology that powers it, what the guide provides is a different set of data than you get with the search. The Guide is basically a reformatting of the Lexham Survey of Theology with the following sections complete:
- Topic - a visual locating the topic in the broader context and an introductory essay on the topic
- Theologically related passages - a curated list of Biblical references
- Recommended reading - a list by the author(s) of the introductory essay
- Systematic theologies - this is the section where only 5 resources are currently linked in; unfortunately, the methodology did not scale so there is a delay in expanding the results.
Logos created a new entity for this Guide so there are no other sections that we can add to the guide and it does not correspond to any of the search already available to us.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
