When will we be able to add our custom Layouts to the dashboard?

As the subject states, I'm looking for when (or if) we will be able to add our custom layouts to the dashboard. So far, I haven't found the Dashboard particularly useful, due to the fact that all the stuff I actually use (including custom layouts) can't actually be pinned there. Though I can't imagine why such would be the case. Any news of incoming changes?
