Got a new computer

I am now on the second new computer that I have gotten, pretty much specifically, to run Logos. I first got Logos about 5 years ago, I got i7 17" laptop... not fully sure of all the specs, I still have it and it still works, adequately. Its just big and heavy and I'm trying to make my way through all of Mike Heiser's books, so I wanted something more manageable for light night use.

I have a top of the line imac, and a iPad pro...the wife uses them, and 10" and 12" android tablets.I have also used a 7" tablet as well.

The imac is just plain fast and the 27" screen is wonderful. Havent really used Logos on the ipad, because the app does seperate pages like the andorid app does and I'm not really a fan of that except maybe for church. The 7" screen was to small. I might as well be on my phone.  The 12" is nice..but it can be unwieldly. If it presented information in panes like the windows app, It would be worth it... but android has it's limitations. The 10" android was the best compromise and if it did panes instead of pages, I probably would have stayed with it, but again, I got about half way through Unseen Realm and sorta fell off, we got the imac in november and it was great for early morning reading... but it doesnt quite it in the bed.

I got a lenovo Flex 5 two in one convertible , 512gb SSD, 16Gb ram, 8th gen i7 1.8 Ghz with boost up to 4.0. I got it as a refurb.

I have close to 2200 documents in my library and I think it indexed it in less than 2 hrs... probably closer to one, while I was watching directv, loading other software and had maybe 20 tabs of Firefox open in 2 windows.

The difference is amazing. I have the 15.6" screen... the ability to scroll using your finger... amazing. Writing your notes into the notes editor in one pane, while still having the book open in a main pane, and maybe a Bible open in a third pane... awesome.

I'm a techy who happens to be a christian and loves deep bible study... not involved in any kind of public ministry... and I have a Logos 8 platinum package.

If all I were going to use the computer for was Logos... or if it was the primary use... I might have gotten a smaller screen, maybe a 13" ... I was actually suprised that I dont miss my old 17" as much as I thought I would.

Touch screen is definitely worth it... I think the pen is definitely going to be worth it. The 16gb of ram might be over kill, but better to have and not need, then want and not have... I think this was a good move.

Glad you're happy with your new computer! It is nice to be able to use Logos away from the desktop.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

That's all good. I've always had a 15.6" screen on laptops, with a fairly low resolution 1366x768, but it suits me. Higher resolution usually means I will scale it higher than 100% (in Windows) for readability! Two large panes (or tiles) and one smaller pane for Tools works well for me.
