Resources updated notification in Logos 8.3 beta 1

Well done for adding resources updated notification into the status bar!
However, it looks as though there might be a discrepancy between what is reported there and what is shown in the library - in this example 57 in the notification against 51 (in the last seven days) in the Library
(It is possible - but unlikely - that some of the 57 are from more than 7 days ago)
It looks as though dateset updates are shown in the resource notification on the status bar but not in the library.
Are these supposed to match?
If not, what is shown in one that is not shown in the other?
Thanks, Graham

Yes, this is the difference.
Logos 7 was the same (showing reverse interlinears, datasets, and other resources that don't appear in the Library in the "Updated Resources" notification).

The list of updated resources includes all resources that were updated, even if you can't open them directly from the Library. (E.g., a reverse interlinear only appears in the associated Bible, not as a separate entry in the Library.)

Thanks Bradley
Just wanted to be sure we could advise people properly

From your screenshot it seems that datasets are grey whereas resources are blue links. This would match how it was shown in L7. Did/Could you count them to verify the number? My L8 claimed I had 61 (library says 57 updated in the last 7 days):
I would suggest
a) to change the wording and explicitly say "xx resources and datasets updated"
b) to add a scrollbar

My difference was six - 2 datasets and 4 reverse interlinears
And your suggestions are good ones!

Does the notification go away after relaunching? From mine I'm guessing it shows (or tries to show) any updates, accumulatively, over the last 7 days like the library facet? Rather than just the last transaction? And it annoyingly never goes away if there has been any update in 7 days?

no. You can use the "hide" link inside the notification to urn it off. That's a good thing, I think.

seems so, plus the updated datasets incl RI etc.

I missed that, looking at the screenshot above. I still can't access mine to try this out.

This feels awful redundant to me. I know people want to see a return of the notifications, but I think just a link to the library without the resource list would work just as well and not break when trying to display one's entire library in a popup. It would make sense if it offered something different, say more like the orders screen with some candy:

That adds something although still slightly redundant. But simply listing out resources is ridiculously redundant and unnecessary, IMO. A simple link to the library would be better. But I am very grateful to see the return of some form of notification to show resources were added.

From the discussions it seemed many users won't accept that. I'm glad they brought it back in the way it works now (well, the scrollbar and the changed wording would help). And it's not a simple list of the library facet only - and it contains a link to the library:
I bought a book since my last screenshot of 61 and was wondering if it would just add up - this is better, I think.

We are working on this and a few other tweaks for beta 2.

I really like the return of this feature. I'd appreciate it if datasets were grouped at the bottom, and resources at the top. A distinction between new resources and updated resources would be even more useful.
This is my personal Faithlife account. On 1 March 2022, I started working for Faithlife, and have a new 'official' user account. Posts on this account shouldn't be taken as official Faithlife views!

This is part what we are working on for beta 2.

We considered this, but would require some fairly substantial changes to our download manager, and deemed it out of scope for the current work.

What about a return of the software version update with link to the release notes? Perhaps this could be a dashboard card???

[Y] Or, at least on the About Logos page.
