Hi

In Logos 7 - i could add a note to a bible verse and update it to link to all Bible versions.  I did it all the time - usually from my IPad or IPhone

I can't find this option in Logos 8 - Am i missing something - is it coming or depreciated

it was very useful

thank you

Rob

    Hi Robert

This is making a note by reference.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "adding a note and updating it" - did you not simply create it by reference in the first place, or did you add different attachment points afterwards?

This mechanism is still available in Logos 8 and works essentially the same on desktop.

On mobile it is slightly different - and adding anchors (the new "attachment points") isn't currently supported. You can add a note to a verse (not a larger passage) by tapping the three vertical dots at the top-right of a resource and then tapping "Make a Note"

If this doesn't help please provide some more details

If you're talking about "corresponding highlights" (used for displaying text selection highlights across any RI Bible), this has just been added in the 8.3 beta cycle.

  • Thanks Graham!!

I have been searching to know how to do this on mobile for a bit now as I had almost exclusively entered notes this way while reading Scripture!! I do not see this change regarding attaching to Reference feature described in the FAQ (unless I missed it). There may be many folks who have been trying to figure out where this feature went (which used to be in the add a note dialog box as a slider). The benefits of using the attach to Reference feature is that your note would be visible across all Bible versions and not just tied to one translation (the title of this thread). This is a highly beneficial aspect regarding taking notes on Scripture.

Could someone pass along that they might want to clarify this in the new Logos 8 Notes FAQ in a good size paragraph and big letters as I would suspect there may be some others who may have given up on taking notes on mobile without it. I had done so and did not spend the time to research it until today.

Your statement helped BUNCHES and is quoted here again for others:

    Agreed

I'm glad it was helpful but I do hope the ability to easily add notes by reference to a longer passage is reintroduced to mobile. There are many times I would find is useful.l
