Search for greek word with prefix/suffix

Looking for shepherd references. I knew there was references to The Lord Jesus as Good/Great/Chief Shepherd, but only saw the first two. Chief Shepherd is one word. The Greek core translates as shepherd plus the prefix. The prefix  causes it to be considered a totally different word.  Is there a search that would catch a core, and core plus prefix/suffix as well?

Thanx,

You could try searching the root - right-click the word, select root on the right and then search the resource.

Or you could see where the word "shepherd" coincides with the person Jesus

    Suggest Greek root search: e.g.

    <Root = lbs/el/ποιμην> INTERSECTS <Person Jesus>

I'm searching and studying prefixes and I'm still not there yet. Hopefully some more advance academic minds can be helpful.

Trying to find and highlight words (nouns, verbs, etc.) that have prefixes or suffixes attached. I've tried searching using the prefix "ἐπι-". However, searching for verbs or nouns with other prepositions used as prefixes, such as απο-, προσ-, ανα-, and others, requires a separate search.

Regarding the search syntax lemma:ἐπι*@V, here's a breakdown:

    • lemma: You're looking for the root or base form of the word.
    • ἐπι*: This part seems aimed at finding words with the prefix "ἐπι-".
    • @V : You likely intended this to filter for verbs (V for verb), but this syntax might not be correct or recognized by Logos as intended.

the prefix/preposition or with verb or noun… you are looking for combinations with; ….μετα, περι, υπερ, εν, εκ, απο, κατα, παρα, αντι, προσ, εισ, ανα, δια, υπο….

    lemma:προ*@V

    lemma:συμ*@V

    lemma:συν*@V

lemma:α*@V (negative force with this search (Greek letter α; you will find words like ἀνάξιος (unworthy), ἄγαμος (unmarried) …

Logos search for prefixes in; Smyth, H. W. (1920). A Greek Grammar for Colleges. American Book Company.
